HARTFORD—U.S. Senator Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) on Tuesday released his first TV ad of his re-election campaign. The 30-second ad, titled “The Things That Matter,” features Murphy on his 8th annual Walk Across Connecticut, talking about what he hears from the people he meets along the way and why this week is important to him. The ad highlights Murphy’s willingness to do exceptional things, like walk across the state, to meet people where they are and deliver results for them in Washington.

MURPHY: “What I find on this walk is that the things that people care about here in Connecticut really don’t change.

“The cost of living. How much money are they making? How much are they paying in taxes? Are their neighborhoods safe? Those are the things that matter.

“I love Connecticut, and I love this job. I don’t take it for granted. I want people in this state to understand that I’m willing to do exceptional things to do the job right.
